My wife and her family and some good friends of ours packed up my mother-in-law’s Town & Country van and the Sunbird and went about 45 minutes north to I ndiana to camp at my father-in-law’s cabin this Labor Day weekend. It was a great time and the car handled the drive just fine.
Around 100 miles total. Not a single hiccup with the car, thankfully . I actually turned the A/C down once because it was too cold! I’m very thankful the previous owners had the whole system rebuilt and converted to R134a.
And my new tape adapter meant I could listen to Dolly Parton the whole way there and The Judds the whole way home. 56,300 miles on the Pontiac now.

I’m still in disbelief about how well the paint has held up.
Do yourself a favor and get one of these. The charge last like a week and it eliminates the whine you get if you try to charge your phone while it’s on a wired connection.

What’s odd is the car has that whine through its speakers regardless of whether or not my phone is playing. It changes with engine speed, too. Some type of interference, I guess ?

That is probably ignition related rfi interference . Could be time for a new set of plug wires.
